The Sun Moon Lake Ropeway is 1877.15 meters long, running through Buji Mountain with an altitude of 1044 meters. It takes around 16 minutes to go for a round trip. You will enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and the mountain. If the humidity condition is right, you will be lucky to overlook this fantastic fairyland bathes in the midst of fogs. The Ropeway is one of the most charming ways to explore the beauty of Sun Moon Lake with your own eyes. You can’t miss it!
1.Get to the Sun Moon Lake Station. First, take a “number” at the information counter on the 2nd floor. Then, proceed to the boarding gate on the 3rd floor and present your “number” and Nantou Fun Pass on your order to the staff for boarding.

※This is a round-trip ticket. Passengers who only purchase ticket of Sun Moon Lake Ropeway must use the entrance at the Sun Moon Lake Station at Ita Thao instead of the entrance at Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is not allowed.

The ticket is only for Sun Moon Lake Ropeway. Ticket to Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is not included.

Seasonal thunderstorms are common at Sun Moon Lake. For the safety of the passengers, the facilities may be temporarily suspended when there are lightning concerns.Suggest you visit Sun Moon Lake Ropeway official website or contact service line to confirm whether the station is closed.
Bicycles, pets not in pet carriers, or other huge sharp items considered hazardous are prohibited on board (except for guide dogs).
- Do not eat, drink, smoke or chew gum on the cable. Please store your food and drinks in your bag.
Operating hours may be extended to cater to large scale events (e.g. Sakura Festival), or adjusted due to weather conditions, power failure, system maintenance, etc. Changes in operating hours shall be subject to the announcement posted at the station or on the official website.
The first Wednesday of the month is the ropeway maintenance day, and the ropeway will be closed to the public. For annual major maintenance, additional closing dates shall be subject to the announcement.
